Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 7 August 2026

Our Commitment to You

At Berkshire Private GP, our priority is to provide safe, compassionate and personalised healthcare. These Terms & Conditions help explain how our services operate and ensure we can deliver the highest standard of care while being clear and transparent about what you can expect from us.

1. About Us

Berkshire Private GP is a private medical practice providing healthcare services including GP consultations, home visits, blood testing, joint injections and remote physiotherapy.

Our contact details are:

Telephone: 01784 665255

Email: info@privatedr.uk

Website: www.privatedr.uk

2. Our Services

We provide a range of private healthcare services, including:

  • Private GP consultations
  • Home visits
  • Venous blood testing
  • Health MOTs
  • Joint injections
  • Remote physiotherapy

All services are subject to clinical assessment and suitability.

Booking an appointment does not guarantee that a prescription, investigation, referral or specific treatment will be provided.

All clinical decisions are made by the treating clinician based on your individual circumstances and accepted medical practice.

3. Booking Appointments

Appointments may be requested through our website, by telephone or by email.

Appointment requests are reviewed before confirmation.

A booking is only confirmed once you have received confirmation from Berkshire Private GP.

We reserve the right to decline or rearrange appointments where clinically appropriate or where it is not possible to safely provide the requested service.

4. Fees & Payment

Our current fees are available on our Pricing page.

Payment is required before or at the time your appointment is confirmed unless otherwise agreed.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Blood tests
  • Laboratory investigations
  • Medication dispensed by pharmacies
  • Specialist investigations
  • Additional reports or letters requested after your consultation

We will always discuss any additional costs with you before proceeding.

5. Cancellations & Missed Appointments

If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.

Appointments cancelled with more than 24 hours' notice will not incur a cancellation fee.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice or missed appointments may be charged in full.

For home visits, once your clinician has started travelling to your appointment, the full consultation fee will apply if the visit is cancelled.

6. Home Visits

Home visits are available within our designated coverage area.

Availability depends on clinician schedules and travel times.

If weather conditions, traffic or other unforeseen circumstances prevent attendance, we will contact you as soon as possible to rearrange your appointment.

Our clinicians reserve the right to withdraw from any visit if they feel their personal safety is at risk.

7. Remote Consultations

Video and telephone consultations are suitable for many, but not all, medical conditions.

Remote consultations have limitations and may not always allow a definitive diagnosis.

If your clinician believes that a face-to-face assessment, emergency treatment or hospital attendance is required, they will advise you accordingly.

8. Prescriptions

Prescriptions are issued only where clinically appropriate.

Medication costs are separate from consultation fees.

Certain medications are outside the scope of our service, including controlled drugs and other restricted medicines.

Prescription decisions remain entirely at the discretion of the treating clinician.

9. Investigations

Where appropriate, your clinician may recommend investigations such as blood tests or imaging.

We will explain:

  • Why the investigation is recommended
  • Any associated costs
  • The expected turnaround time

Laboratory turnaround times are estimates and are outside our control.

10. Referrals

Where clinically appropriate, we can provide referrals to private specialists.

As a private GP service, we cannot make referrals directly into NHS secondary care.

With your consent, we can write to your NHS GP with our recommendations for ongoing care or consideration of an NHS referral.

11. Fit Notes

Where clinically appropriate, our GPs may issue a fit note for up to two weeks.

Patients requiring ongoing certification should contact their NHS GP.

12. Joint Injections

Every joint injection appointment includes a clinical assessment.

A joint injection will only be performed if the clinician considers it to be clinically appropriate.

The consultation fee covers the assessment regardless of whether an injection is ultimately recommended.

13. Remote Physiotherapy

Treatment plans are tailored to each individual.

Successful rehabilitation depends on following the advice and exercise programme provided by your physiotherapist.

Where appropriate, you may be advised to seek further assessment, imaging or face-to-face care.

14. Medical Emergencies

Berkshire Private GP is not an emergency medical service.

If you experience symptoms such as:

  • Chest pain
  • Severe shortness of breath
  • Signs of stroke
  • Heavy bleeding
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Any other medical emergency

you should call 999 immediately or attend your nearest Emergency Department.

15. Your Medical Information

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information regarding your medical history, medications and allergies.

Failure to provide relevant information may affect the advice or treatment we are able to offer.

16. Privacy

We take your privacy seriously.

Your personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.

17. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible.

We aim to resolve concerns promptly, fairly and transparently in accordance with our Complaints Policy.
