FAQs

If you have any further questions please get in touch with our team.

How do I book a private GP appointment?

The easiest way to book is through our online booking form. Alternatively, call us and we can arrange a suitable appointment.

How do I pay for my private GP appointment?

We request pre-payment for your appointment via a link which will be emailed to you after booking your appointment.

I've changed my mind about a booked appointment. What do I do?

We understand that your symptoms can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 24 hours before your appointment. There is no charge for changes made with more than 24 hours’ notice.

For home visits, once the Doctor is on the way to you, any cancellations will be charged as a full consultation, with no refund given.

Non-attendance will be charged at the full consultation fee, with no refund given.

How long will my consultation be?

The consultation can be booked for as long as you need!

A typical remote consultation is 15 minutes. If you think you require a longer appointment, please let us know when it is scheduled.

A home visit can vary in length, depending on the need. It will likely be between 20-60 minutes in length.

Who are your doctors?

All of our GPs are on the GP Register with the GMC, have been trained in the UK, and have extensive experience of working in the NHS and private sector.

Are there any limitations to what you can prescribe?

Our GPs will only prescribe medication if it is clinically indicated. Some medication will only be prescribe if it is possible to share the consultation notes with your NHS GP. Additionally, we do not issue any controlled medication (except a limited supply of codeine based medication). For more information about what is classed as a controlled drug, please see https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/controlled-drugs-list--2/list-of-most-commonly-encountered-drugs-currently-controlled-under-the-misuse-of-drugs-legislation.

What if I need investigations (e.g. blood test, scan)?

If at the end of the consultation investigations are needed, we can help get these done in a timely fashion. We will always be upfront and transparent about the costs of any investigations and would take the time to explain how the investigation would benefit you.

What if I need to see a specialist?

If you need to see a specialist, we can help facilitate this with a private referral to a top specialist that’s local to you. Because we are a private GP service we cannot refer you via the NHS, however with your permission we can write to your NHS GP with our recommendation.

Will seeing a private GP affect my registration with my NHS GP?

Many people worry that seeing a private GP may affect their NHS GP registration. Rest assured this is not the case. In fact, we strongly advise you to always remain registered with an NHS GP and share the consultation with them. Please note, we do not have access to your NHS records.

Why should I book a private GP appointment?

There are many advantages to seeing a GP privately. You will have fast and easy access to appointments at a time that suits you. You will see a highly experienced GP who will have the time to discuss your medical problem and formulate a plan that’s right for you.

Can you write letters for Court and for Legal Aid?

These documents need to be prepared by a doctor that has access to your full NHS medical records. Therefore, we are unable to do this.

Can I be issued with a repeat fit note?

Our GPs can issue a fit note for a maximum of 2 weeks. If you need a repeated fit note, you will be signposted back to your NHS GP to obtain this.
